About Us

Islamic Relief strives to alleviate poverty and suffering wherever it is found, paying no heed to gender, race or creed.
After a quarter-century of service, Islamic Relief now has permanent locations in over 35 countries in Africa, Asia, Europe and North America.
Islamic Relief provides emergency disaster relief when it is needed, and also spearheads development projects in multiple sectors, including education, income generation, orphan support, health and nutrition, and water and sanitation.
After being founded in 1993 in California, Islamic Relief USA is now headquartered just outside of Washington, D.C. in Alexandria, VA. We also have regional offices in California, Illinois, New Jersey and Texas.
In addition to fundraising for relief efforts around the world, the American offices have developed domestic projects to help disadvantaged communities right here in the United States.
Some of Islamic Relief USA’s domestic projects have included: community grants, toy fairs for children, financial assistance, healthcare in underserved areas, and the annual ‘Day of Dignity’ program, which provides food, medical care, hygiene kits, and more to thousands of homeless and underserved people across the country.
