Over half, 51 percent, of the world’s 9.2 million under five deaths are in Africa. Over 20 percent of these deaths are newborn children, while many more are due to illnesses such as Pneumonia, Malaria, diarrhea, and AIDS.

Islamic Relief implements programs throughout Africa for malaria-eradication, reduction of malnutrition, water and sanitation, and orphan sponsorships.
