Zakat al-Fitr
In Islam, zakat al-fitr is required for one's fast to be complete. As Ramadan ends, an additional gift of zakat al-fitr is offered. These acts not only purify the wealth and deeds of the person, but help provide for those less fortunate. The amount for zakat al-fitr this year is estimated at $10.
Feed the Needy

During the month of Ramadan, Islamic Relief distributes thousands of food packs to needy individuals, benefiting hundreds of thousands of people.

This year, Islamic Relief is distributing more than 95,000 food packs to impoverished and needy families in 25 countries.

Ramadan is a difficult time for needy and impoverished people. In Iraq, an Islamic Relief aid worker wrote, "It is common for people to knock on our door in the morning to ask for food or drink..." Click here to read more.

Sadaqa Jariya
Sadaqa Jariya is an act of charity that has a lasting impact on society, as well as lasting rewards for its sustainers.
Kafara / Fidya
By God's mercy, the travelling, the elderly and the ill do not have to fast if doing so would create hardship (Qur'an 2:184). Any missed fasting days are to be made up later, but for those whose illness or age prevents them from making up missed fasts, Fidya can be offered instead for each fast missed. Islamic Relief offers Fidya and Kaffara funds to serve donors' needs and help provide meals for the needy during this blessed month.
Eid Gifts
The end of Ramadan is a joyous occasion when Muslims worldwide celebrate Eid al-Fitr. Unfortunately, millions of children are too poor to take part in these festivities. Share the joy of Eid, give an Eid gift and help bring smiles to the faces of needy children.
